Senafas Rindu

Salaam and good day everyone..
Hope all are in good health and good sprit to start a new week.....

My weekend was a hectic one. Everything didn't go according to plan. I was supposed to attend our neighbour's daughter's engagement ceremony on Saturday but then a the day before, I received a call from our parent's neighbour in Melaka, informing us that the outside lights were not functioning for more than a week. It's not good to leave an unoccupied house in the dark of the night for a long time. So hubby said, let's fix the lights and he thought of going back after Fajr prayers. But I can't as I had promised Kak Dah (our neighbour) to do for her 100 pieces of fruit tarts and some jelly. And also, I have to collect the curry puffs I had helped her to order, from Kak Timah. Soon after Fajr prayers, I set to work. First, cook the filling and let it cool. Meanwhile, spread some melted cooking chocolate on the base of the tart casings. Pipe the filling and arrange the fruits (Kiwi, Apricot and Cherry) on top. All done by 9.00 am. Then rushed to Kak Timah's place to collect the currypuffs. Luckily it was all ready by the time I reached her place. After everything were safely delivered, I got ready and off we went back to Melaka. It took longer than what hubby had expected. He tried to fix the lights, but since it was quite old, the best decision is to get a new lights. We bought the one which does not need a starter. According to Mr Gox, the electrician who happens to be our parents' close friend, the lights are much better than the old ones. Not only it does not need a starter, it's lighter and saves energy to about 20%. Hubby had asked him to fix the sensor onto the lights and all he has to do at home, is just fix it to the ceiling. After the job was done, on the way home, we thought of just dropping by the neighbour's house just to thank them. But hubby got carried away chatting and we only started our journey back to KL at 6.40pm!

On Sunday, woke up early for Fajr. Didn't go back to sleep. Got carried away reading a novel by Damya Hana entitled Senafas Rindu. Gosh, I can't stop reading! Had to stop at 9.45am because Syahmi's tuition teacher came to teach Syahmi and Iddin. After they've started the class, I went to Giant to get Fatin's stuff because we planned to go and visit her in the evening. Back from Giant, I prepared some garlic bread, mushroom soup and fried some fish nuggets to serve them. Alhamdulillah all gone..... You'll be able to see the photos in MamaFaMi's Spice n Splendour

Yesterday night, I was so into reading the novel as it was the climax of the story. I didn't watch the football match, Germany vs England but stayed infront of the TV just to accompany hubby. At 12.30 pm, we went out for a drink and when we came back 15 minutes after that, I continued reading. Hubby off the lights as he wanted to sleep before waking up again at 2.30am. I went to the dining room and continued reading till the end, sobbing all the way. It was a nice story. You can read the synopsis here . I only slept at 1.50am!
